Located within a complicated historical context, this project tries to create a connection between the Museum of Applied Arts (MAK) and the University of Applied Arts (Angewandte) by facilitating a civic engagement with art and design. {Dezeen}
The expressive shell with its free flowing circulation the spills onto the ground is meant to attract passersby to explore what is often hidden behind the walls of an institution.
Instead of traditional walls and floorplates, stairs and steps separate spaces and programs. This flexibility allows for a variety of different events to take place at all times of the day.
